Belarusian teardrop trailers: a family hobby turned into a travel business

Russian company Luidor converted the Sobol NN into a camper with kitchen and shower. Belarus started producing MAZ-based campers and plans a parking lot near Mir Castle.

A network of campsites for motorhomes is planned to be created in Belarus. The project involves the construction of parking areas with a minimum set of services, such as electricity and water supply.

The BAMAP association has announced that Lithuanian trailers (semi-trailers) located in special parking areas in Belarus can now be retrieved. To reduce time and financial costs for carriers, empty European trucks are permitted to travel directly to these parking areas, including those not listed in Belarusian Council of Ministers Resolution No. 599, via designated border checkpoints (e.g., Kamenny Log) and customs clearance points (e.g., Minsk-TLC-2). The basis for the trip is a carrier's written statement for a specific trailer, and a navigation seal must be used throughout the route in Belarus in accordance with Resolution No. 688.

MAZ and the MAZ-Kupava trailer and body plant have introduced a motorhome based on the MAZ-365022 chassis. The vehicle is equipped with a Euro-5 diesel engine producing 150 hp, a manual transmission, and ABS, EBD, and ESC systems. An independent heater enables operation in temperatures from -30°C to +40°C, providing cabin heating for up to 56 hours with the engine off.

MAZ and MAZ-Kupava have unveiled the Kupava-273140 motorhome on a MAZ-365022 chassis. It sleeps four, has a 150 hp diesel engine, and operates from −30 to +40 °C. Over 200 calls came in two hours after the announcement; price and launch date are yet to be announced.
