The Italian city of Varazze is facing a worsening problem of chaotic motorhome parking. The lack of equipped parking areas leads owners to occupy free parking spaces for long periods, causing conflicts with residents. A project for a parking area in the Salice district was abandoned, and the unofficial use of the 'Pino Ferro' sports field has ended. Police cannot fine for parking in permitted areas, and Article 185 of the Italian Highway Code allows overnight stays in a motorhome as long as it does not constitute camping.
