The Italian municipality of Cison di Valmarino (Treviso province) has banned overnight parking of motorhomes and caravans across the entire municipal area from August 5 to 17. The measure aims to prevent illegal camping during the Artigianato Vivo festival.
The National Caravanners' Coordination Association (Ancc) has sent the municipality a request to repeal or amend ordinance No. 50 of August 3, 2026. The association argues the ban is legally incorrect, as camper parking is governed by traffic rules and is not equivalent to camping, citing Article 185, paragraph 2, of the code. Ancc claims to have won over 35 court cases in similar situations and warns that if the municipality does not respond by August 10, it will appeal to the Regional Administrative Court (Tar) seeking reimbursement of legal costs.
