Kocaeli Municipality has introduced a new fee system at the coastal parking lot (Sahil Otoparkı) covering 68,000 sq m to combat chaotic parking and inefficient use of space.
The first 10 hours of parking are free, while a fee of 300 Turkish liras applies after 12 hours. Caravan owners have been given until April 1 to remove their vehicles. Those who fail to comply will be towed at their own expense under the caravan parking ban. According to some sources, they may also be directed to a special caravan park in Kartepe.
