Residents in the Erdek and Kapıdağ areas of Turkey have increasingly complained about long-term caravan parking in public spaces. They note that shorelines and other public areas are turning into makeshift parking lots, leading to environmental pollution and damage to nature.
Campground and caravan park owners on the Kapıdağ peninsula are calling for inspections due to an uncontrolled surge in caravans. They claim that some individuals open their plots for parking without licenses or tax payments, creating unfair competition. According to them, caravans also park on beaches, roadsides, and in public spaces, causing environmental pollution and spoiling natural coves.
