Authorities and caravan owners in Izmir are at odds over parking issues. The number of caravans has increased post-pandemic, occupying free coastal parking spots and causing complaints from residents. The city has only two municipal caravan parks with a total capacity of around 280 spots. A previous council decision to ban long-term parking of trailers on streets has not been enforced.
