UK-based Taylored Campervans has introduced the Offtrail Flex, a camper van conversion built on the Volkswagen T7. The van features a pop-top roof with a 130 W solar panel, a flexible interior that seats five and sleeps four, and a lithium leisure battery with a Victron Orion charger. Pricing for the conversion starts at £20,950 including VAT; with a VW Transporter T7 2WD Commerce Pro supplied by the company, the price is £65,950.

At the Kampeer en Caravan Jaarbeurs in Utrecht, camper vans based on the Renault Trafic with diesel engine and the electric Renault Trafic E-Tech Electric, already available for order, are on display. Exhibits include the Florida and Nevada by Buscamper op Maat on Volkswagen vans of 4.90 and 5.30 metres, the Wally-Van Classic and Air with slide-outs, the Ford Nugget in bright red, the Westfalia Kelsey on a 5.45-metre Ford Transit Custom with four seats and four berths, and Amigo Campers conversions of the Volkswagen Transporter, Ford Transit Custom and Mercedes Vito. Electric models include the Outbase Delta and Flow on the VW ID. Buzz, the Vantrack LC on the Kia PV5 Passenger (available in Base, Flex and Pop versions, on sale mid-next year) and the Ventje T7 with seven seatbelts and up to four berths.

Ventje has unveiled the T7 camper based on the Volkswagen Transporter, with seven seats and two double beds. It will debut at Mobicar in Brussels from 8 to 11 October.

33-year-old Briton Troy Williams has moved into a converted 2016 Volkswagen Transporter to care for his sick dogs. He saves about 1,750 euros per month, with monthly expenses for insurance, fuel and internet reduced to 525 euros. The total cost of the van, bought at auction for just under 12,000 euros and fitted out, came to around 33,000 euros. He has spent nearly 13,000 euros on veterinary care this year.

German Ford camper van specialist Nugget Schmiede has launched a high-roofed Nugget Twin, offering a winter-ready camper van with four solid walls and space for four people. Unlike Ford's own high-roof Nugget, it is available in all-wheel drive. The roof will also be offered for Volkswagen vans and campers, though not for the California. The insulated, lined roof with bed starts at €11,000, and an upgrade kit adds €3,950. The complete Nugget Twin First Edition is priced at €95,980, with base models starting at €89,680.

German company Ebicos has unveiled the Happy Dreamer slide-out sleeping module, which installs in a van's boot without tools. Manual version costs €6,250, electric from €9,990.

Redline Campers, the brand from Daventry-based Venture Caravans & Motorhomes, will unveil a new model at the Motorhome & Caravan Show, taking place at the NEC from 13 to 18 October 2026. Based on the latest Volkswagen Transporter, the new model features a GRP roof, a 100% cotton roof canvas by French tent manufacturer Cabanon, and the Régis Rive bed previously exclusive to the Explorer. The launch coincides with the brand's tenth anniversary, which will be marked in 2027. The Explorer will make its NEC debut, and updated Sport GT and Sport GT XS models will gain a lithium leisure battery and an elevating roof bed platform.

On Sunday in Nova Vas (Miren-Kostanjevica municipality), an unknown person broke the passenger door window of a car and stole a woman's handbag containing several hundred euros and personal documents. At the Vršič pass, a 59-year-old German citizen parked her VW Transporter motorhome for two minutes to take photos, and during that time a thief stole a bag with a wallet and documents. The damage amounted to about 300 euros. Police remind that even a short absence can lead to theft and advise not to leave valuables in vehicles.

José Antonio from Cádiz has been living in a converted Volkswagen Transporter T4 van since March 2025. He cites high housing costs in Andalusia and the choice between renting and a 45-year mortgage as reasons. He now saves €600–700 per month, and €300 in the worst month. He plans to continue van life until at least age 40.

At Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, Volkswagen showed an inflatable kitchen and bed concept for the California Beach, developed with Stuff Bubble. The modules weigh under 10 kg and fold to 12 cm.

Scottish company Jerba Campervans has unveiled the compact Tiree camper based on the 2026 Volkswagen Transporter with 4Motion all-wheel drive. The vehicle is 5.05 meters long, allowing it to fit in a standard parking space. Inside, it features swivel front seats, a kitchen with a two-burner stove, sink, and 51-liter refrigerator, as well as a rear bench that converts into a bed and a second sleeping area in the pop-up roof. The Tiree accommodates four to five people while traveling and up to four for overnight stays. Prices start at £71,000 for the base version, and £75,680 with the 150-hp engine, automatic transmission, and 4MOTION.

It features a pop-up roof with Ventile cotton canvas, a three-seat Mobirame bench that converts into a double bed, and a kitchen with a two-burner stove and Vitrifrigo fridge. The electrical system includes a 100 Ah lithium battery and inverter, with charging via solar, shore power, and DC-DC. The van sleeps up to four and is designed for daily use and weekend trips.

Dutch maker Ventje unveiled the T7 camper at Caravan Salon 2026 in Düsseldorf: up to 7 seats, 4 berths, three powertrains, from €95,000.

A Vienna resident named Dominik converted a new 2024 VW T6.1 into a fully equipped camper. The project cost around €46,700, including materials, labor, and registration. The vehicle features a sleeping area, kitchen, refrigerator, and toilet.

IMTEST tested five roof tents for 2-3 people priced up to 2,700 euros. The models Dometic TRT 140 Air, Front Runner Feather-Lite, Gordigear Daintree 140, Horntools and Thule Approach M were evaluated for rain and wind resistance, sleeping comfort and ease of setup. It is noted that roof tents cost 2,000-3,000 euros, which is significantly cheaper than a camper, for example, a VW T6.1 California from 63,000 euros. Before purchasing, it is recommended to check the permissible roof load in the vehicle's operating manual.

In Italy, in the province of Pavia, a first-generation Volkswagen Transporter 4 camper, built in 1992 and registered in 1993, has been discovered. The vehicle features an original Westfalia conversion with badge number 01465. Its condition makes it suitable as a retro exhibit.

Media Indonesia has published a list of 10 vehicle models commonly used as campervan bases in Indonesia. The list includes Toyota Hiace Premio, Daihatsu Gran Max, Suzuki Carry, Mitsubishi L300, Nissan Serena, Hyundai H-1, Isuzu Traga, Volkswagen Transporter, Toyota TownAce, and DFSK Gelora E. Prices for standard units range from 160 million to 660 million Indonesian rupiah depending on model and condition.

In Hagenburg, a 52-year-old hunter found an illegally parked VW Transporter. After calling the police, the driver deliberately drove at the hunter, grazing him, and fled.

Fliss Freeborn, 23, bought a used VW Transporter T5 for £8,500 (about $10,000) and converted it into a home on wheels using furniture from her old apartment. The total budget was around £10,000 ($11,900). An old TV stand became a kitchen unit, bed slats became a storage box, and bookshelf shelves were used for the table and bed platform. New wood cost $35, and a custom mattress cost $120. The motorhome has no built-in sink or stove; a portable two-burner stove is used. An auxiliary battery charged by the engine provides power.

Turkish manufacturer Hotomobil has unveiled two new motorhomes with sleeping alcoves. One is based on the new VW Transporter with 4x4 drive, the other on the Fiat Scudo 2.2 Multijet. Prices start at €79,730.
