Camping season opens in Uludağ

Afyonkarahisar municipality organizes a family camping event with tents and caravans from July 24 to 26, 2026. Participation is via donations to the Mehmetçik Vakfı fund.

A parked caravan caught fire on 32 Evler Plajı beach in Karasu, Sakarya, due to a suspected gas leak. The flames spread to a nearby motorcycle. Firefighters prevented further spread, but both vehicles were completely destroyed.

A thermal complex in Çobanlar, Afyonkarahisar, has added a motorhome park. Entry fee is 300 Turkish lira, including towel, slippers, pestemal, and bonnet. The park offers electricity and water hookups and barbecue areas. The owner claims the park is unique in Afyon.

In the Türkeli district of Sinop province, Turkey, a caravan and a motorcycle collided on the Türkeli-Ayancık road. The motorcyclist was hospitalized.

A 47-year-old Swiss citizen was found dead in his motorhome at a shopping mall parking lot in Şanlıurfa province, southeastern Turkey. Police have launched an investigation and an autopsy has been ordered.

The body of Swiss citizen Alexander Johannes Moor was discovered in a motorhome in the southeastern Turkish province of Şanlıurfa. The 47-year-old was traveling with his family; when relatives returned to the motorhome after visiting the city center, they found him unresponsive. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. Police secured the area and conducted an investigation inside the vehicle. The body has been taken to the Şanlıurfa Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. No official statement on the cause has been released, and the investigation is ongoing.
