The municipality of Tomelloso (Ciudad Real) has put into operation a new public motorhome area that, according to local authorities, will be one of the most modern in Spain. Located on María López de la Parra street, the facility includes 13 pitches (according to one source) or 20 pitches (according to another), as well as showers, toilets, water supply, grey and black water drainage, a digital reception, intelligent access control, video surveillance, energy-efficient lighting, photovoltaic canopies for self-consumption, and electric vehicle charging stations.
The area is connected to the A-43, CM-42, and A-4 highways and linked to cycling routes. The project is funded by the European Next Generation EU funds under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. It is expected to attract travelers crossing the central part of the peninsula and boost local shops, restaurants, wineries, and museums.
According to one source, the opening is expected in a few weeks after obtaining permission from the regional government of Castilla-La Mancha, while other sources report that the area is already open.
