Sejong Hapgang Camping Site installs dump stations for motorhomes and caravans

The 2026 Korea Camping Car Show, South Korea's only specialized RV exhibition, opened on March 25 at Busan BEXCO (Hall 2), organized by the Korea Leisure Vehicle Industry Association (KRVA). The event features caravans, motorhomes, and camper vans from major domestic and international manufacturers, with a strong focus on new models based on Kia PV5 and Hyundai ST1 electric platforms. Exhibitors include Autohomes (Cubevan PV5), Nine Camping Car (ST1), Dongil E&C (SD Plus), The Bandy (Moffice), Camping Car Master, Human Camping Car, Sopoong Camping Car (P1/P2), as well as Bluebird Enterprise (Airstream, Swift, Hymer), Airvan, and Kite. The show runs through March 28.

The Great Pool Camp (THE GRATEFUL CAMP 2026) will take place from September 4 to 6, 2026, at Jjang bluespotted mud hopper Beach in Sinan, Jeollanam-do, combining camping with live music. The fifth edition features a lineup including Shintaro Sakamoto, yoga sessions, and sports events, with a stay-at-home format where attendees camp on-site. Organizers emphasize the festival's focus on community and immersive experience over large-scale commercial events.

South Korea's only specialized leisure vehicle exhibition, the 2026 Korea Camping Car Show, opened on June 25 at BEXCO's Hall 2 in Busan and will run for four days. The show features domestic and international motorhomes, caravans, trailers, rooftop tents, and next-generation electric campers. Starting June 26, the Busan Mobility Show will be held concurrently, showcasing future mobility and leisure trends.

A new camping site 'Southern Bug' has opened in Yuzhnoukrainsk, Mykolaiv region, targeting local residents. Located on the Southern Bug River, it offers 10 pitches for motorhomes and caravans, plus a tent area. District residents receive a 20% discount on accommodation. The site operates year-round.

Kia unveiled the electric PV5 High Roof van on the eS platform. It features 1815 mm interior height, a walk-through cabin, and a flat floor. Hyundai Motor Group’s first Cell to Pack battery (CATL NCM) enables 377 km (Long Range, 71.2 kWh) or 280 km (Standard, 51.5 kWh). Standard ADAS includes HDA. Sales begin July 2026.

South Korea has issued guidelines on safety and etiquette for car camping (chabak) and auto camping. Since September 20, 2024, camping, cooking, and open fires are banned on public parking lots operated by state and local authorities, with fines up to 500,000 won. Special emphasis is placed on carbon monoxide poisoning risks from heaters in enclosed spaces.
