Camper area in Monzambano reopens

The Italian motorhome industry is showing steady growth, particularly in Tuscany. In 2025, Italy registered nearly 8,000 new vehicles, a growth rate 18 times higher than the European average. The International Motorhome Show in Parma in September attracted over 107,000 visitors and 320 exhibitors.

The issue of regulating the use of public spaces by motorhomes has resurfaced in the municipality of Arco in the province of Trento. The civic movement Fucina Comune reports prolonged stays of motorhomes in the parking lot of the Coop supermarket in the Romarzollo area, prompting complaints from residents about a lack of clear rules and enforcement.

An administrative court has overturned a Wolkenstein municipality ordinance that prohibited parking campers between 8 PM and 6 AM. The court ruled that such parking restrictions fall under the authority of the administration, not political bodies. The decision was made on procedural grounds, without examining the substantive dispute over potential discrimination.

In Turin, the sanitary facilities at the Caio Mario camper area on corso Unione Sovietica have been restored and reopened. They were previously damaged due to vandalism and unauthorized use. New rules have been introduced to prevent further incidents: a maximum stay of 7 days, digital license plate registration, a 200 euro deposit, and a 50 euro fine for violations.
