New campgrounds for RVs have opened in Swanton (Ohio), Bastrop (Texas), and Fernie (British Columbia). Among them is Ohio's first African American-owned RV park, a year-round site in Canada, and a Texas park with a fishing pond.

Three new RV parks have opened across North America, offering a range of amenities and accommodation options.

Superior Made RV Resort (Swanton, Ohio)

The new campground opened on the site of the former Big Sandy campground, which had been part of the Lucas County landscape for decades. The land was sold to the Toledo Metroparks. The owners, the Lawson family, say their business is the first African American-owned RV park in Ohio. The park offers 200 sites, including seasonal and overnight spots, and will operate until mid-October.

Coal Creek Camping & RV (Fernie, British Columbia)

This year-round campground opens May 1. It features 47 fully serviced RV sites, three of which have private horse corrals. The park is already fully booked for late June for the TransRockies Single Track 3 bike race.

A Place to Call Home (Bastrop, Texas)

The park offers sites ranging from 15 to 24 meters with various hookups. Amenities include a laundry, Wi-Fi, a fishing pond, a dog park, and a large pavilion with a fire pit.

Chrysler Pacifica Grizzly Peak: Off-road minivan may enter production

Chrysler is considering series production of the Pacifica Grizzly Peak concept, an off-road minivan with all-wheel drive and raised suspension. First shown in 2025, the project has gained momentum internally. Ground clearance is increased by nearly 7 cm, it rides on BFGoodrich off-road tires on 18-inch wheels, and rear seats are replaced by a storage or sleeping module. The powertrain is expected to be the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 without a hybrid option.

LiftFund helps Kerr County businesses recover after flood

LiftFund provided grants and zero-interest loans to businesses in Kerr County, Texas, affected by the July 2024 flood. In January 2025, the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country gave $10 million to LiftFund, with $7.4 million already disbursed. The co-owner of Guadalupe Keys RV Resort reported receiving a $50,000 grant but said no revenue is coming in, and recovery is stalled due to unclear permit processes.
