Skagway’s borough assembly rejected an ordinance that would have ended its summer RV habitation program in five years. The current Resolution 21-29 allows one inhabited RV per 5,000-square-foot lot from April through October, subject to municipal inspection and permitting; it runs through November 2026, and permits cost $300 annually. Several business owners opposed the new ordinance, and the Assembly concluded a backup plan is needed before seasonal workers lose housing.
