New camper area in Montechiaro d'Acqui for tourism along rural churches and Calanchi route

Work has started in Macerata Feltria on a temporary camper parking area in the Pieve locality, near the sports facilities. The project is funded by an €82,500 grant and includes 11 pitches, a camper service area, internal road improvements, green spaces, lighting, an ecological waste collection point, Wi-Fi, and video surveillance.

Italian manufacturer Roller Team has unveiled the new Kronos Fit 235TL motorhome. It measures 5.99 m long, 2.15 m wide and 2.89 m high, with 4 berths. Inside, there is a spacious lounge that converts into a bedroom, a bathroom with a flat shower, and a kitchen with two gas burners and a 150-litre fridge. A compressor fridge is optional. The starting price is €63,790 excluding options and discounts. In Spain, it comes with the Kronos Fit pack (165 hp, upgraded interior) at no extra cost; an automatic gearbox adds €2,000. Sales in Spain begin in the coming weeks.

A Polish couple described their transition to vanlife, starting with a first trip to Italy after buying a 20-year-old used motorhome in July 2025. Before buying, they rented a similar-age motorhome in May 2025, which helped identify faults. For Italy, they installed Starlink, upgraded the solar battery and all-season tyres, and completed pet documentation, including a rabies vaccination at least 21 days before travel.

A guide to touring Campania by motorhome has been published, featuring four routes and 13 verified stopovers. In the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park, 32 motorhome stopovers are marked between Acciaroli, Palinuro and Padula. On the SS163 Amalfi Coast road, motorhomes and caravans are banned year-round, with exceptions only to reach authorised areas; in summer, alternating number plates apply on peak days. The practical solution is to leave the vehicle in Sorrento, Salerno or Tramonti and continue by SITA bus or ferry. Municipal stopovers may be free, while private ones with full services cost more and vary by season; the best period is May, June and September.

Startup Vanna Camp from South Tyrol presented the Cubivan Camping System at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf. The system converts models such as the Volkswagen Caravelle, Ford Tourneo Custom and Mercedes-Benz Vito into full-fledged campers using rigid insulated modules: a roof sleeping area of 2 by 2 meters and a pull-out rear section with kitchen, toilet and shower. Unlike traditional roof tents, it uses solid folding panels made of reinforced plastic. The system can be removed and transferred to another van. The price is around €22,000. Pre-orders are open until 31 December 2026, with official sales starting in early summer 2027; some specifications, including water tank capacity, fridge volume and energy system details, have not yet been announced.

In the first four months of 2026, Italy registered 4,050 new motorhomes, up 14.96% from 3,523 in the same period of 2025. The European market grew by 10% over the same period, from 58,539 to 64,406 units. According to the Salone del Camper, by the end of August the 2025–2026 season closed with Italian registrations up 4.95%, while the European market remained essentially stable. In 2025, Italy registered 7,936 new motorhomes (+10.56% over 2024), and used vehicle transfers rose 6.05%. Italy is Europe's third-largest motorhome producer after Germany and France, exporting over 80% of its output. The Ministry of Tourism selected 152 projects in 170 municipalities to create or upgrade 4,464 pitches, with €25.76 million in funding.
