Cheongnyangsan Suwon camping site, located in Bonghwa County, North Gyeongsang Province, surpassed 10,000 visitors within 10 months of its opening on October 22 last year. As of August 31, cumulative visitors reached 10,832, of whom 64% (6,942 people) were Suwon residents. Over three months since late May, visitor numbers grew by 4,765.
The site was created as a joint project between Suwon and Bonghwa cities: Suwon modernized and operates the site, which Bonghwa provided free of charge for 10 years. A trial operation ran until November 30, the site was closed from December to March, and it officially opened on April 1. It offers 12 auto-camping spots (9 wooden and 3 gravel) and 18 accommodation units: 6 caravans for 6 people, 5 mini-caravans, and 7 glamping units. The grounds also feature a fountain, a lawn, and an observation deck. Reservations are made through the CampingTalk app and the official website by lottery from the 1st to the 15th of each month, with 50% of spots reserved for Suwon and Bonghwa residents and the rest allocated by random draw.
Off-season weekday rates are 20,000 won for an auto-camping spot and 70,000 won for a 6-person caravan; Suwon and Bonghwa residents and several eligible categories receive a 50% discount. After a winter break, the site resumed operations in April; over five months it welcomed 8,172 visitors. Until September 16, a satisfaction and program preference survey is being conducted on the SaebitTalk platform.
