Haylea and Ryan Rossi from the US have lived in a caravan with their two children since 2020. The stay was initially planned for six months in Colorado, where Ryan was attending training after leaving the army. In early 2026 the family bought a newer Forest River Sabre 36DBB for about $70,000 after their previous caravan was written off. According to Haylea, monthly housing costs usually stay below $1,000, including about $600 for the caravan payment and around $200 for campsites through a Thousand Trails membership. The family remains in the caravan because it allows them to save money and spend more time together.
