An Australian family rented a camper in Istanbul for a 24-day counter-clockwise route along the Aegean and Mediterranean seas. The trip was complicated: the vehicle had a dead battery, and later an engine leak required ordering a part from Izmir. Despite the breakdown, the repair was completed in one day, and the family continued the trip along a route that included Ephesus, Gallipoli, Dalyan and Cappadocia.
The family noted that campsites in Turkey are less developed than in Western Europe, and entrance tickets for foreigners to major attractions cost 200–300 dollars for a family of four.
