Tendo City (Yamagata Prefecture) signed an agreement on May 11 with Vantech, a company that sells and rents camper vans. In the event of a major earthquake or flood, the city will be able to rent camper vans on a priority basis to accommodate personnel from other regions and medical workers.
Each camper van can hold up to 6 people and is equipped with a microwave, sink, temporary toilet, and air conditioner. With a fully charged battery, it can maintain a temperature of 27°C overnight. Vantech has a factory in Murayama City, which facilitated the agreement with local authorities.
