A couple from Launceston, stopping in Goulburn, said a shortage of RV and caravan parking is deterring tourists. They were among six travellers who stayed at the visitor information centre, but others could not find a spot. Deputy Mayor Caitlin Flint proposed identifying council-owned sites, introducing an affordable user-pays model, and adding amenities like toilets and dump points. Tourism Research Australia data shows campers and RV travellers contributed $12.6 billion to the economy in 2025.
