Gisborne District Councillors have agreed to consider an additional campervan and caravan effluent dump station through the next Long Term Plan process. Mayor Rehette Stoltz said the council recognises the importance of the issue to the New Zealand Motor Caravan Association (NZMCA) and its members, as well as the work done over many years to develop a consented proposal. The decision does not commit the council to building or funding the station at this stage; instead, further work on costs, funding options, and delivery arrangements will be undertaken. Any investment proposal will be assessed alongside other community priorities during the Long Term Plan process, with opportunities for community input.
