RV owner considers $400 battery upgrade after shaded California campsite strains solar setup

An RV owner reported that at a shaded campsite in California's Pinnacles National Park, the solar setup powered air conditioning for only about four hours. The system includes 970 watts of solar panels, a 314-amp-hour EcoWorthy house battery and an Anker F3000 portable power station. The owner arrived with batteries about half depleted and faced daytime temperatures in the high 80s or low 90s Fahrenheit. To increase capacity beyond 11 kilowatt-hours, the owner is considering a second 314-amp-hour EcoWorthy battery costing about $400. Generators are not allowed at Pinnacles, so the owner's backup generator could not be used.
