Brazilian couple Alessandro De Franceschi and Maria Eduarda Cardoso travelled through 10 African countries in a motorhome fitted with rooftop solar panels, 15.36 kWh of lithium battery storage and alternator charging. The motorhome connected to the grid only about three times during a journey lasting approximately one year. The Victron Energyⓘ system powered two air conditioners, two refrigerators, an electric stove and Starlink satellite internet. The expedition began in August 2025, and the couple also visited four other countries without the vehicle.
