In Archuleta County, Colorado, on 22 October, a motorhome belonging to Hank and Stacey Wills overturned on a flooded road. County authorities had ordered residents to evacuate, but the couple stayed to protect their house with sandbags. The motorhome stalled on the flooded road, and a tow truck could not reach them because bridges were closed. Four hours later a sheriff's deputy started a rescue, but the current tipped the motorhome and the rope broke. The couple, three dogs and two cats were airlifted in about 45 minutes after 11 hours.
