Spanish pensioners Maribel and Vicente from Mallorca have been living in a motorhome for five years, travelling across Europe. The move has cut their monthly expenses by €1,400 compared to living in an apartment.

They gave up rent, utilities and a car, saving €400 a month on loan and insurance. The couple sticks to a budget of €2,000 a month, of which up to €700 goes on diesel, and €150–200 is set aside for repairs.

According to one source, the move also improved Maribel's health thanks to the dry climate.
