Interest in caravanning — traveling in campervans and motorhomes — is growing in St. Petersburg and across Russia. According to the rental company "Kemper Tour", the entire fleet was fully booked as early as May. The average rental period is five days, with popular routes heading to Karelia and the Murmansk region.
Sources report that Russia has 32,200 owners of campervans and caravans. The market includes 322 companies, of which 115 offer rentals. The number of families choosing this type of vacation increases by 2,500 each year. Market growth is constrained by a shortage of campsites: there are only 464 specialized sites in the country.
