A German family from Munich traveling in a motorhome cut short their stay at Camping Lavanda in Orebić on the Pelješac peninsula after five nights. They cited unbearable heat due to the near-total lack of shade on their pitch, as well as weak Wi-Fi, an occasional sewage smell and a tiring steep climb to the beach.
The campsite staff did not charge for the early departure, which the family praised. They also gave positive marks to the campsite's amenities, sanitary blocks, restaurant and free sun loungers with umbrellas. Their complaint in the Facebook group “Croatia with campers” drew mixed reactions: other campers praised the campsite for its amenities and service quality, noting that their experience depended on the pitch location — in particular, those in the first row by the sea reported a positive experience.
