Motorhomes and converted camper vans have occupied car parks in city parks in Yangjiang, Guangdong, for the winter stay season. At Gongqinghu Park most spaces are taken by motorhomes, with owners setting up awnings and solar panels. Residents complain about a shortage of parking spaces and fire and electricity safety risks. A motorhome caught fire at Moyanghu Park in late 2024, leaving the ground scorched. City authorities do not oppose the stays but say parking is nearly saturated and no new spaces are planned. Motorhomer Li said a paid winter area with water and electricity in Chuxiong, Yunnan, charges 15 yuan per day.
