Lawson, in partnership with Glory and the Japan RV Association, has launched a paid motorhome stopover service using store car parks. After a trial in Chiba Prefecture in July 2025, where average occupancy exceeded 90% during peak periods, the company is expanding the service to 27–28 stores in Saitama, Shizuoka and Aichi from July 2026, to 37 stores nationwide by September 2026, and to 48 stores from 30 October with 11 additional locations including Kyushu. It plans to reach about 70 stores within the 2026 fiscal year. About 80% of users are married couples aged 50 or over. Each store accepts one vehicle per day and provides space for two vehicles, with a fee of 2500 to 3000 yen per night, check-in at 15:00 and check-out by 10:00 the next day. The service includes electricity and disposal of one bag of food waste.
