In Spain, particularly in the Balearic Islands, the number of people living in caravans is rising due to the rental crisis. In Son Hugo, Palma de Mallorca, the number of caravans has grown from 20 to 200 and residents from 40 to 400 in a short time. Among them is José, father of a three-month-old baby, who bought a caravan because he could not afford a rental. Residents are not asking for housing or aid, but for a place to park and basic services like trash bins and waste disposal points.
