Living in a camper van and an off-grid home: experience and conclusions

A couple lived for two years in a converted 1996 Chevy Express van, then two years in an off-grid home in New Mexico. Both lifestyles had benefits: low costs and freedom in the van, space and independence in the home. However, the van required constant moves and stress from finding overnight spots, while the off-grid home suffered from remoteness and power issues. After the birth of their child, the couple moved to a walkable neighborhood in St. Louis.
