Three stories of van life: a retiree with a dog in the mountains, a couple who settled after pregnancy, and a producer who turned a caravan into a studio. Common themes are freedom, challenges, and adaptation.
Three Years in a Camper: Owners' Experiences
Several people have shared their experience of living full-time in a camper van. One owner, traveling with a dog, notes that this lifestyle expands the pet's world and simplifies care, but comes with challenges: finding vets in unfamiliar towns and accounting for local health risks for the animal.
Another couple lived in a camper van for about three years, traveling across the USA. In March 2019, the author unexpectedly became pregnant, which required a quick decision. After a miscarriage, they decided to settle down and bought a house on 40 acres in New Mexico.
A Retiree in the Mountains
An author from Peru shares their experience of living in a camper after retirement, traveling through the mountains with a dog. The focus is on a lifestyle change: leaving the office routine for freedom of movement and simplicity. Details of the camper setup are mentioned: a coffee spot, a compact bed, a map with marked visited places. Daily rituals include cooking on a propane stove and stargazing away from city lights.
Mobile Recording Studio
Producer and sound engineer Cori converted a caravan into a professional mobile recording studio. The project started in 2023, and in 2024 a test route covered 12 provinces of the Iberian Peninsula. In 2025, the 'Coriprod Van Tour' launched with stops in 22 provinces, holding sessions with local artists. To ensure stable power for studio equipment, LiFePO4 lithium batteries, MPPT controllers, and solar panels were installed; for acoustic insulation, Kaiflex thermal insulation and sound-absorbing materials were used. So far, over 70 artists have participated in the project.
