The author drove 300 km in one day to reach the Wakkanai roadside station in northernmost Japan. The parking lot was full, as was the nearby Wakkanai Forest Park campground, so the night was spent at a free gravel parking area opposite the Wakkanai Port North Breakwater Dome. The local Seicomart store was nearly out of food, but a Montbell collaboration T-shirt was purchased. In the evening, a light and music event took place at the breakwater dome.
