Tamaulipas State Guard provides security for caravan of nationals

A couple from California, traveling in a motorhome, has been in Mexico for three months and is currently in Parral. The caravan members highlight the country's safety and plan to venture into the Chihuahuan mountains.

The group 'Viajando por México en RV' has over 100,000 followers and a community of 1,200 travelers who organize routes across the country. This is boosting tourism in Parral.

About 80 families are traveling through 10 municipalities of the state in August to boost regional tourism. The convoy of 40 motorhomes arrived in Parral as part of the Tarahumara Route 2026.

Creeper and Lidia from Jalisco sold their house three years ago and converted a 12-meter school bus into a motorhome, equipping it with solar panels, a kitchen, shower, toilet, bedroom, and a small laundry. They have visited Jalisco, Michoacán, Colima, Nayarit, Sinaloa, Sonora, and Baja California, documenting their trips on social media. In Tijuana, the border wall made a strong impression on them. The couple does not plan to return to a conventional life and intends to continue traveling across Mexico, and in the future, beyond it by motorcycle.

Mexican customs authorities may detain a motorhome even if the owner has a valid Banjercito permit, if the document does not list attached vehicles. According to regulations, the permit covers only the motorhome, and additional vehicles are considered illegally imported. Owners are advised to update their permits and list all vehicles to avoid confiscation and administrative procedures.

A severe storm in Hermosillo caused a power outage and fire risk for the motorhome of the couple known as Nudos Viajeros. Strong winds knocked a branch onto a transformer next to their vehicle, sparking flames. The couple quickly moved their motorhome and took temporary shelter at a nearby Oxxo store.
