A family from Woerden (Netherlands) has been traveling through Europe and North Africa in a camper for two years. Jolanda Zwetsloot and Brecht van der Laan, with sons Dax (9) and Jep (6), have visited Italy, Spain, Sardinia, and Morocco. According to one source, Greece and Montenegro were also included.
The trip is funded by savings and income from renting out their home in Woerden. The family deliberately avoids buying new things, preferring second-hand items, which allows them to work less. The children do not attend school; education happens on the road.
In September, they plan to continue traveling by bicycle with tents, possibly as far as Istanbul.
