Kumamoto City held its first hands-on event using the newly created car-sleeping evacuation manual at the Kumamoto Velodrome. About 70 participants in 40 vehicles spent the night in a designated parking lot to learn how to avoid health risks like economy class syndrome. They scanned QR codes to register their information, performed stretching exercises, and tested emergency supplies. The drill was organized in response to the 2016 Kumamoto earthquake, when many residents slept in cars due to aftershock fears.
