At the Kumamoto Velodrome, designated as one of the shelters where people can take refuge in their vehicles, a disaster prevention event was held with the concept of 'learning while having fun'. The velodrome, heavily damaged by the Kumamoto earthquake 10 years ago, completed reconstruction in January this year and became a base capable of accommodating 150 vehicles for shelter. The event featured displays of emergency response vehicles and camper vans usable for vehicle shelter, as well as outdoor gear and elastic stockings effective in preventing economy class syndrome. From evening to the next morning, a real vehicle shelter experience event took place, with 50 groups participating.
