According to Haley, monthly expenses often do not exceed $1,000, including an RV payment of about $600 and about $200 for campsite stays through a Thousand Trails membership.
The family switched to this lifestyle after Ryan was discharged from the army and they moved to Colorado, where housing prices turned out to be too high. They stay in one place for about two weeks, winter in Florida, and return to Kansas City in the summer.

They first bought a 2020 Forest River Sabre, which was later declared a total loss, and in January 2026 purchased a newer Forest River Sabre 36DBB model for $70,000. The Rossis cite saving money and paying off debts as the main motive, as well as the opportunity to travel and spend time with their children.
