Peter Murrell, the former husband of Scotland's ex-first minister Nicola Sturgeon, has been found guilty of embezzling funds from the Scottish National Party (SNP). During the trial, it emerged that a German Niesmann+Bischoff IsMove motorhome worth £124,550 was bought with the stolen money.
Equipped with a kitchen, bathroom and super king-size bed, the motorhome was never used: according to one source, it covered only 4 miles, according to another — 6 km. It was stored in the garage of Murrell's mother.
Amid instability in the Middle East and fuel price fluctuations, UK motorhome and campervan sales rose by 133%. New model sales grew from 5,000 in 2000 to 16,666 last year, while caravan sales fell from 34,000 to 7,300 over the same period.
