The author visited the Hoshi no Moto auto campground in Tsuchitaru, Yuzawa, Niigata Prefecture, and described the trip. On the way, he drove through the new Mikuni Tunnel, opened in 2022, and on the return visited JR Doai Station — Japan's deepest: the platform is 82 m underground, reached by 486 steps. At the campground, pitches are spacious and guests are placed every other site, creating a sense of freedom. He also took a soba-making class and walked around Lake Daigenta.
