A growing number of campsites in Saxony offer winter pitches for motorhomes and caravans. At Sternencamp on Bärwalder See, 40 of 104 pitches are open in winter, and the site is fully booked over Christmas and New Year. Galgenteich campsite in Altenberg operates year-round at 800 metres and has direct access to a 50-kilometre cross-country ski network. According to the ADAC camping portal Pincamp, winter camping bookings have risen by 73 per cent since 2023. Saxony has 107 campsites, which recorded around 282,000 arrivals and 892,000 overnight stays from January to August 2026.
