In Japan, the use of campers in disaster zones is increasing. These vehicles, equipped with air conditioning that runs even with the engine off, allow organizations to secure their own accommodation. After the Kumamoto earthquake, medical groups used such vehicles. The Japan RV Association has signed cooperation agreements with 33 organizations, including national agencies and municipalities, to provide vehicles during disasters. In 2025, these vehicles will be included in the national disaster response vehicle registration system.
