The author describes a first camper van trip from Tokyo towards Hiroshima on 18–19 October. The rented camper van was collected in Koshigaya at 19:00, and the departure from home was at 22:15. A long-term closure of the Ginza entrance and Shintomicho exit on the Shuto Expressway began at 23:00. Because the driver felt unwell, a planned stay at an RV park in Miyajima was cancelled with a 100% cancellation fee, and the night was spent at the car park of the Poppo-no-Yu hot spring in Fukuyama for 1,000 yen. Admission to the Kariya hot spring costs 950 yen on weekdays and 980 yen at weekends, rising to 1,050 yen and 1,150 yen from November.
