Berlin sees decline in cars, rise in motorhomes

Unknown perpetrators stole an Adria caravan from a company parking lot in Heiligenhaus, North Rhine-Westphalia, on the night of June 20, 2026. A motion alarm triggered around 0:30, and the thieves forcibly removed the security device before driving off with the trailer bearing a Mettmann district plate. An onboard GPS tracker located the caravan in the Netherlands shortly after the theft, prompting international police search efforts.

In 2025, the municipality of Murg recorded 9,454 overnight stays, up from 8,807 in 2024. The motorhome site contributed 5,356 stays (up from 4,974), generating €41,739 in revenue. The nature campsite had 1,652 stays, and the guesthouse 173.

A banner has appeared on the edge of Fürth, in the Wiesengrund area, announcing the creation of the city's first tiny house park. Conservationists have raised concerns because the site borders a water protection zone. The city administration stated it has no information about the project.

Prices: CampingVillage tickets from €25 to €50 plus €10 garbage deposit; SilentCamp €109 per person; caravan pitch in SilentCamp €159. Strict rules apply: no open fires, drones, weapons, or pyrotechnics; sound systems limited to 3 kW and 95 dBA; generators allowed only in CampingVillage.
