Former banker Juan Carlos Roca from Spain (Galicia) took early retirement in 2016 at the age of 58 and bought a motorhome. Over ten years, he visited more than 60 villages across Spain and also traveled to Portugal. Now 68, Roca plans a big trip to China with his family.
According to Roca, his wife set a rule: trips should not last longer than 15 days. Sources differ in wording: one says "60 regions," the other "60 villages."
The new source specifies that Roca used the app Los Pueblos Más Bonitos de España to choose villages, and that he sometimes breaks his wife's rule, for example by going to Portugal without a return ticket. He does not plan to return to work. It is also reported that he travels with his dog, exercises, and sings in a band. Additionally, he combines trips with attending matches of the football club Deportivo La Coruña and meetings with his daughter in Madrid.
