La Strada will present the new Avanti R camper based on the Fiat Ducato at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf. The 6.36-meter model with H3 high roof features a rear lounge and an electric drop-down bed measuring 202 x 192 cm. Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, and other safety systems. The entire Avanti line has been updated with compressor refrigerators, a revised kitchen, and new design.

The ADAC camping portal Pincamp has published a ranking of the most popular campsites in Saarland for 2026. Camping Losheim am See in the Merzig-Wadern district took first place again, followed by Campingplatz Bostalsee in Bosen in second. Newcomer Campingplatz Kanu-Wanderer Saarbrücken in Saarbrücken-Burbach ranked third. The ranking is based on an analysis of German campers' usage behavior.

Mercedes-Benz has updated the Marco Polo based on the V-Class for the 2026 season. The camper features a new aluminum double-shell roof, improved insulation, LED lighting with app control, and optional air suspension. Production has moved from Westfalia to Mercedes-Benz's Ludwigsfelde plant. The base 220 d version costs around 80,000 euros, while the top 300 d with all-wheel drive and AMG Line reaches about 122,000 euros.

On Tuesday evening, a motorhome caught fire while driving on the A23 near Heide (Dithmarschen district). One person was treated for suspected smoke inhalation and taken to hospital. The motorway was fully closed southbound between the Heide-West and Heide-Süd junctions until 2:15 a.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation; a technical defect has not been ruled out.

After the introduction of a daily fee of 15 euros, between March and the end of July, on average, a motorhome stood on the parking lot next to the sports hall in Gaildorf only every second night. Camping Gutshof Donauried in Günzburg has offered overnight stays in four wooden barrels since 2015. Each barrel is 4.8 meters long and 2.4 meters in diameter, featuring a double bed, two benches convertible into single beds for children, a table, a refrigerator, and infrared heating. The barrels require no building permit and no water or sewage connection, which is advantageous in a water and nature protection area. They are in high demand and booked well in advance, but expansion is limited by a lack of staff.
