Tsarevo Municipality Designates 44 Plots for Temporary Placement of Tents, Campers, and Caravans

In Sinemorets, Bulgaria, a paid parking area for campervans has been introduced in the forest behind Butamyata beach as of 2026. Previously, this area was used for free wild camping. Now only motorhomes and campervans are allowed, with the fee not disclosed.

The municipality of Tsarevo conducted a second review of a controversial tender that leased 35 decares near Butamyata for 3 years as a campsite for €6,700 per year. The review again ignored the family ties of the only bidders — a mother and son — and deemed the competition lawful. The mother deliberately failed to meet conditions to drop out, leaving the plot to her son. The Regional Environmental Inspectorate found violations on site: the company 'Pepe.bg' started work without permission, facing a fine and suspension of activities.
