Spain's Directorate-General for Traffic (DGT) reminds that the number of passengers in a motorhome is limited by the officially certified seats, not the number of beds. Exceeding this number is a serious offense, carries a fine, and can cause insurance problems in the event of an accident. The key distinction is between 'travel seats' (certified seats with seat belts) and 'sleeping berths'.
