The administration of Bulgaria's Tsarevo municipality has issued a statement defending its decisions to lease plots for camping and caravan sites, calling the resistance illogical. The statement comes in response to a prosecutor's investigation that questioned the legality of the leases.
Authorities argue that such sites are one of the few real alternatives to redeveloping the Black Sea coast. The municipality notes that the tenders were conducted in line with the new MRRD regulations, and the prosecutor's objections concern non-compliance of some plots with the ordinance. It emphasizes that the city council's February decisions were not challenged within the five-month deadline and were approved by the regional administration, calling the allegations unfounded.
