New safety regulations for motorhomes in China, effective March 1, 2026, prohibit the use of sleeping berths and showers while the vehicle is in motion. All new vehicles must be equipped with a locking system that activates at speeds above 5 km/h, and the existing fleet must be retrofitted by the end of 2026. The rules were introduced following 183 accidents linked to using these amenities while driving between 2022 and 2024.
