The Economic Policy Committee of Bulgaria's National Assembly approved amendments to the Insurance Code introducing seasonal third-party liability policies for motorcycles, campers and certain other vehicles. The policies may be valid for less than a year but no less than one month. Shortened policies apply to vehicles not used year-round, including those with temporary or transit registration, slow-moving and self-propelled machines. The change follows protests by motorcyclists against rising mandatory insurance costs and insurers' refusal to offer policies shorter than 12 months. A final vote in the plenary is pending.
